Important Information About
Our College’s Future Needs

Did you know that more and more people are relying on community colleges for some or all of their educational needs, because public and private universities everywhere have become so expensive?

With over 65,000 students annually, Mt. San Antonio College is the largest of California’s 109 community colleges. It is regarded as one of the finest higher educational institutions in America with a solid reputation for academic excellence and distinction.

Mt. SAC is also the region’s training center for many of the critical professions that drive our local economy and maintain public safety.  In fact, Mt. SAC is the area's primary center for training local firefighters and paramedics who protect our communities as well as other medical professionals who care for our families.

But Mt. SAC’s ability to keep pace with the increasing demand of local students is hampered by deteriorating conditions on its 420-acre campus in Walnut.  Many classrooms are housed in post-WWII-era buildings, and several buildings don’t meet handicap accessibility and earthquake safety standards.  These and other aging facilities have decaying walls, deteriorating sewer systems, and leaking roofs.

That’s why we must invest in Mt. SAC so it can meet the ongoing demand of local students who seek a high-quality and affordable education.

We’re seeking your input and feedback on a solution to this big problem.  With state budget woes threatening to take away $5 billion from public education, we have to urgently explore viable solutions.

Keep checking out this site to stay updated on how you can help improve Mt. SAC for our students and our community!
